Science Instructor Email I come to New Holstein with a varied background. My original degree was in Biology, and I also studied to be an athletic trainer at U.W. Whitewater. After completing my degree, I worked in retail with jobs ranging from sales associate to managing a department. After eight years in retail, I decided to go back to school and get my teaching certification.
I am certified to teach Biology, Earth Science, Astronomy, and Physics. I have my masters in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Physics from UW River Falls.
Teaching as granted me many opportunities to continue my education. I enjoy bringing ideas that I learn in my classes back into my classroom. My goal is to make science interesting. I want students to understand how science is a part of their everyday lives. I try to show how science is a part of all aspects of life. This involves labs, projects, and discussions.
Professional Associations
I have been a member of the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers all of my professional career. I have served on the board of directors, as well as sitting as the chair of the Wisconsin Earth Science Teachers Association. In the spring of 2022, I was named Earth Science Teacher of the Year for the state of Wisconsin by the National Earth Science Teachers Association.
I am also a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers.
