On Wednesday January 27th we’ll roll up our sleeves and help save lives! The New Holstein High School Student Council is proud to partner with the American Red Cross to hold the first blood drive of the school year. Students and staff please check your email for how to sign up to donate, along with other important reminders for what you will need to do if you decide to donate. Students, remember to sign up to donate blood during your study hall period. If you are under eighteen years old, you will need to pick up a parent consent form from Mr. Ollhoff or print one from the email that was sent to you. You will need to bring it with you on the day of the drive. When you sign up to donate, you will become eligible to win a gift card from area businesses. Seniors, the more students that sign up and donate, means the American Red Cross will be able to offer a bigger scholarship at the end of the year. For those that sign up to donate, you can read the pre-reading and questionnaire ahead of time by visiting redcrossblood.org/rapidpass. It will help save some time, and it can be done on smartphones, tablets, or computers. Also, make sure to eat foods rich in iron like red meat, fish, spinach, drink extra water, and get a good night's sleep the night before your donation. Finally, on the day of the drive, bring either a driver’s license or two forms of other ID (with one that has proof of age). If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Ollhoff.
