Welcome to my webpage! It is very exciting to be in my eighteenth year as a professional school counselor! The primary focus of the school counseling program at New Holstein Elementary School is prevention. Our goal is to help students develop more positive interpersonal and intrapersonal skills...assisting them in becoming happier, more effective individuals and learners. Our school counseling program is for every student at New Holstein Elementary School. Therefore, our services are designed to reach every student through our comprehensive curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services and system support.

I am originally from Wisconsin Dells. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, and received a Masters’ Degree with a School Counseling Emphasis from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh.

School Counseling helps students to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to develop self-esteem, motivation to achieve, decision-making skills, goal-setting skills, problem solving skills, interpersonal effectiveness, communication skills, healthy habits, positive character traits, and career awareness

I instruct guidance classes to each classroom in grades 4K-5 on a variety of topics including friendship, social skills, study skills, anger management, conflict resolution, and careers to name a few. Guidance lessons are based off of the Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Program published by the Wisconsin Department of Public instruction (DPI). This model is in line with the national model set forth by the American School Counselor Association. The guidance curriculum I will lead will follow these national standards of excellence, the same way as other subject areas follow their state and national standards. Individual and group counseling services are also provided, and parents may ask me to speak with their child at any time. Students, teachers, or the principal may also refer students to counseling for any issues.
