to NHHS's Student of the Month Webpage!
This year, the staff at NHHS will be implementing Student of the Month awards given to one student at each grade level each month. The criteria for being nominated as Student of the Month is as follows:
- Integrity – Choosing your own thoughts and actions based on values rather than personal gain. (examples: do the right thing, don’t cheat, don’t steal, be honest)
- Compassion – When someone is feeling hurt or sad your heart wants that person to feel better.
- Perseverance – Keep trying and never give up . . . even if it’s hard.
- Tolerance – Respect others for what makes them different from you.
- Cooperation – Working with others to get a job done. (examples: be a team player, work together)
- Honesty – Be truthful to others and yourself. Be a person that others can trust. (examples: tell the truth, don’t lie)
- Kindness – A little spark of kindness can put a big burst of sunshine into someone’s day (examples: be nice to others, treat others the way you want to be treated, share, and encourage others)
- Respect – You can show respect by how you feel about someone and how you treat them. (examples: be kind, act in a way that shows you care, don’t hit or hurt people, respect others and yourself)
- Responsibility – Be responsible in your words and actions. (examples: always do your best, be prepared, be accountable, do what you are supposed to)
- Academics - understanding that education is important and putting forth 100% of my effort. (This does not mean the student has to be an A or B student).
